Profile of the Artist: [b]MERRYN STUBBS-KENNEDY[/b] Born and bred in Wellington, New Zealand, she has recently moved permanently to her lifestyle block just outside Greytown, Wairarapa. It is here that she has found she has gained much inspiration from the quiet yet ever-changing scenes around her. [img]http://www.public.msk-art.com/studioview.jpg[/img] Although Merryn has no formal art qualifications, she has attended various courses and workshops in the past and currently meets weekly with a group of Lower Hutt artist through the Hutt Art Society with Wellington artist Diane Toscano whom she has found to be invaluable as a positive, motivating force to develop her love of art further. Merryn has completed various commission works in both watercolour and acrylic in the past. In the last few years she has been enjoying working with acrylics and mixed media. It is only since 2006 that she has had the impetus to put her work out to the public where she has successfully sold some pieces and also done commission works. All works are based on her own photography or those of family and friends. For the most part she paints scenes that inspire her, hence she does not stick to one particular theme of paintings.
